What can I cook on my stone?

Be creative – bear in mind the length of time it will take to cook your desired food and how long the stone will remain at an adequate temperature. The stone is great for meat, fish, and vegetables and can even be used chilled to serve your favourite fresh produce. We do not recommend poultry be cooked on your stone.

Is my oven hot enough to heat these stones?

Yes, the household oven is capable of heating your stone beyond the temperature needed to cook a great steak. Your stone will only reach the temperature of the method used to heat it. So if your oven goes to 260°C then the stone will only ever reach 260°C. Heating the stone under the grill will allow higher temperatures to be achieved. For the best cooking experience your stone should be heated between 250 - 350°C.

How do I handle the stone?

Your stone can be picked up using a good quality oven mitt.

What should I expect of my Wildstone after multiple uses?

You will notice that your Wildstone will darken over time due to the oils and fats from the cooking process. This is natural and to be expected. The stone can be simply washed and heated to enjoy dining time and time again.

How long will the stone stay hot?

Once removed from the heat your stone will retain enough heat to cook for a good half an hour, remaining too hot to touch for over an hour.
